@me(not logged in) if the extension .part does not show on chrome, just alter one of the letters, delete the r from rar eg .ra, or the episode number, any alteration and the new download wont match the file so you can start a new download without it wiping the old. Even if you forget the new one will d/l as (Example 'the show s01e02.(1)rar)'. When you pause the new one, simply copy the name of the new download, or replace whatever letter you took away, but just before you paste in the new name, delete the new download (when its paused)as two files of the same name wont be able to exist in the same container. Before you even restart the download the bar should have moved along to the % the larger file was completed, if not it will do as it tries to start downloading again.
Very rarely it will corrupt and wont open, most times it works. I have to do this about 10x with each download now. I'm on vodaphone now, they throw up cisco malware blocks for EVERY site you just can't bypass, they even block many of the ports you'd use for p2p (net nazis). I get it started by other means, when it comes to the downloading the full data amount of the file move back to vodaphone in the browser it will incomplete and not restart, sometimes I even need to switch host because they are throttling the speed, and it can still manage to pair up the parts.... needless to say I wont be staying with voda once I burn through this data.
BTW this works for torrents too, moving from one client to another, if say you use bit comet and cant find peers, so want to put what you've d/l in qtorrent, same theory remove .bc! replace with .q (whatever the extension is)do a file check and it will see what pieces it has and restart. You can even sometimes - rarely get a .rar to open when its failed by changing .rar to mkv, If it's failed to unzip saying it's corrupt, I've only even managed that with mega.nz, not sure why. I've had so much fuggery since I switched isp I've been trying all sorts to get things downloading, so figured out a few quirks in the process.
