Part 2: 143 MB
Why not equal sizes?

A 990MB download on these flaky, slow servers is going to take 6 hours, and 90% likely to stop or abort before it finishes. So this goes on my "last resort" list.

Two 550 MB parts on different servers I could download twice as fast and have a reasonable hope of them finishing.

@TomMix dude really 6 hrs to d/l a 1G file? via 180Upload a 1G file takes me roughly 15 min. - if that. and they're resumable as well. sounds more like it's your connection that's flaky and slow.
