Spiderpig, I agree with you. No one should be releasing under the 'Yify' group, unless it was an original Yify and we know they have not been encoding for a good while, over a year I think now. In addition it potentially puts the file sharing community at risk, possibly the host site too. The DMCA and MPAA go to some extraordinary lengths to try and identify people who view files they would prefer we did not, it's nothing new for them to release something, which is either the content described or not, in an effort to collect IP's. When people are not aware of this and d/l a releases to track IP's (I am not saying this is the case here just it's been known), or continue to use download helpers associated with yify, ie demenoi/yify tracker. They ping back ip nfo to the DMCA, and then people wonder why whey get a letter.
I'm referring to more likely people who wouldn't know about this encoder and might be a new to file sharing, direct downloads, or stumbled across a file, they would be unlikely to be using any proxy/vpn. Its just wrong...wrong I tells you, the name shouldn't be supported by host sites - again unless it is a genuine Yify from before the fall, no chance with this being a new release - sorry for the rant but people should be aware of this issue and avoid the 'yify' (YTS) site, just read torrent freak for the facts about the New Zeland encoder closing down forever to see it's true and copycats attempt to capitalize from the great name known for quality and small file sizes pre x265

WTF? DMCA is a piece of legislation, not an organisation.

Anyway, MPAA cannot track downloads from the file lockers used here. Torrents are completely different.

Don't let your paranoia carry you away.
Worst risk from downloads here is spam and viruses from some sleazy ads on the download sites. Avoid all that by using jDownloader.

If YIFY doesn't care enough to say anything why are you. I appreciate YIFY downloads for posting the files and giving us quality files at a smaller sizes.

No they don't, they admit that they are just a fan based group.
i do want them to continue their good work of collecting all YIFY and re-releasing them, they also admit they may change their name.

If it wasn't for the likes of YIFY there would not be half the torrents or sites there are today, with the competition to bring quality and small file sizes, you may not care about the name but as you say you don't want crap so you really do care.

violetcherry may of got the names confused but she is very right in the fact "MPAA go to some extraordinary lengths to try and identify people" they have changed government legislation around the world including the new free trade agreement.
And yes by their own admission they can and do keep track of downloads from file hosts in fact they send more than 100,000 DMCA notices a day to google and file hosts
They rest of what you say i agree they worst we will get atm is a nasty letter or small fine in some countries.

I don't want to argue with you, but I really don't think YIFY is responsible for half of the files created for downloading or for creating most of the file sharing sites there are today.

but that aside, what I don't care about is who is getting credit for posts or who is posting fake YIFY uploads, etc.

In your first comment you beg for admin to take down and delete and never post fake YIFY uploads here out of respect to the legendary ripper.

what should be commented on here at this site is the quality of the video and or audio or any other information that is important to the users of this site regarding the posts.

out of respect to the original YIFY group the users of this site should be able to decide for themselves whether or not they want to miss out on watching a good release based on principle.

in the spirit of pirating TV shows and movies I'm going to choose to download whatever is good.

I think the original YIFY group would agree with that.

Well the way I see all this about YIFY is that he decided it was better to give in and not pay huge fines that they threatened him with, plus no jail time, plus no fighting like Kim.com has still in front of him (which is more than just movies believe me). Nothing wrong with YTS.ag carrying on with the practice of releasing YIFY's movies under another name. YIFY is still walking free on campus or whereva or whateva he is doing now so I'm happy to just grab whats available. Long live da man
