yeah, now they use more agressive ads and captcha. they have been too easily cheated from opening popups, me myself downloaded tons from them without even javascript turned ON, so now it is their turn to ffuucckk us - their free users. I would just switch to another easily usable host, like frdl.to, but it is not up to me to decide, I am not uploader.

I's n Canada and can empathize. The constant porn and all... I loathe the crap. Trying to finish the captcha is like an Olympic event at this point, for every dog I click on I get sent somewhere (I miss just entering a number coz when done wth the captcha, and something blocks the "submit" button) argh!!! I guess I'm lucky nothing downloads itself (exept for "Opera" but man!!! Ads I see plus those blocked are over 60 for one download on a good day!

Hi, I like to read your posts, you are adding even more humane dimension to this already benevolent site, which we are lucky to have.
I am able to close most of the ads on click'n... before they load, try to dedicate one button in your browser to closing tabs and to configure new windows to open in the new tab instead. It is a bit like a game, the crazy and exhausting one, but I don't see any ads or porn. Even now. Easy times on click'n... are over, I guess. They entered payment enforcing phase. Also excuse my bad english, guys, I'm an autodidact.

Sometimes throw in three more blocking ads in the middle there, and once in a while a fakeout where I don't get a popup and I ctrl-W the click'n tab and have to start over (sigh), or when I've downloaded several episodes of a binge drop and I'm in a groove, and click the link to click'n here on rmz, the click'n tab opens and I ctrl-W it because I'm reacting to the new tab opening (facepalm).

That said, nothing is free, and all of this crap is the price for "free", and the dl speed is pretty good, so who am I to spend 20 minutes typing out a whiny complaint?

One thing that helps some is figuring out how to block IP addresses, and then block the addresses of offending sites, ads, and ad services. That's a game of whack-a-mole, but it does help.

Whining, pragmatism, and (perhaps) helpful advice. I contain multitudes.

@glenn @Glenn @spoonofdeath @waanaabe. Use JDownloader2 to download files and get around the captcha. You still have to solve them but you do not get any popups or virus laden pages loading. The most you have to do is install a browser extension.

I use Adblock ULTIMATE on Firefox v12x. Never see an Ads.

For downloading, I use Jdownloader. Free...and with Plugin installed on Firefox, I only get notified of Captcha's waiting for me. Installed the captcha plugin on all my devices so I can download from any device and any time I want without porn and No Ads.
Hate to see Clickupload do all these captcha's but the Free ride is over, boys!

Thanks for info! We all seem to have similar yet slightly different individual problems. Of COURSE nothing is "free"! But discussing is beyond just whining, it's putting it out there to adapt, brainstorming as a community. What works for one works for another but not the next, it's good to have an array of POVs.

I'm trying to pay for a premium RapidRar account, but gateway 1 (the lowest 'fee') tells me 'Merchant ID is not found! (ERR:NF02)'.

What's the deal here? Will I be forced to pay a higher fee for my premium account by going through the 'preferred gateway'?

for me, it's my Pop up blocker that stops the captcha from working, even though before it would not really stop the new tab and random windows

Having adblock on is not a problem.

I'm not certain it's actually the act of blocking popups/having a pu blocker active stopping the captcha from working, however, the captcha itself could be a type of popup?

One would need to dig into the code more to figure it out...

Indeed SOME capchas ARE pop=ups but there's easy to differentiate: they don't show at the end of the countdown, there a re-direct. I still don't get why the blocker get rid of some but not all pop-ups but yeah, those who pop in front of catcha... specifcally, where you click when done with it... GRRRR Like I sad we all have VARIATIONS of the same problem and there seems to be no one fits all solution? Whatever you find out... cheers, mate

with my popup blocker off, I can selectively prevent certain offending script url/hosts from loading and that stops excessive page shenanigans

however, be aware that IF you do use a 'general' adblocker that makes a specific element hidden, it will internally log/detect you as having adblock on.
