@peymanusa

Do you know what the encoding queue is? How to look at it?

@ nz39
What season, there are seven(7)?

@nz39—I'm guessing you mean Star Trek: Discovery. If so, it's simply a case of mislabeling; the release called "S01E06" should say S01E05. (The sixth episode of Star Trek: Discovery isn't out yet. It'll become available on CBS All Access (and here, I imagine) on the 22nd.)

peymanusa, I believe some of their servers are down. We will simply have to wait until they fix the problem.

Do you know what the RMTeam encoding queue is? How to look at it?

This site is really going DOWN hill and FAST.

The consistency of their releases (the 720p WEB-DL's are WEEKS in ooming IF AT ALL, a fairly new issue)

Don't get me started on the thier hosting issues

and ADMIN support is NON-EXISTENT

I think it may be time for me to relegate rmz as a backup release group.

@John56df4g "if it isn't working as well as you want, there are other places."

I believe that was my point.

I'm with you, Vamps. I definitely have to find another site that re-encodes old movies.

Funny thing - admin popped on and answered 3-4 requests, saying they'd be re-encoded soon. It's been a couple of hours and not one of them is yet in the queue.

I'm not saying I don't value the site and it's releases, It's been my goto for quite a while. I was pointing out that in my opinion, in a VERY short amount of time the site has become lax and is devolving (instead of evolving) and gave my reasons for that opinion. And that I'm going to have to try some of these other encoders for my daily fixes, and move RMZ to a backup position.

Should also mention I only grab tv shows, not sure what's out there as an alternative for users looking for movies. I can only think of one or two movies I've ever grabbed from here.

PSA is where I get new movies. I find their tv re-encodes, as well as those done by Crazy4TV, are slightly larger and slightly better quality. They're also usually done sooner than here.

peymanusa, items that disappear from the top of the queue seem to all get posted. I've checked many. Items that disappear from the bottom of the queue never get posted.

@x265addict

Using settings similar to PSA and Crazy4TV, a 40-45 minute episode takes 25-30 minutes to re-encode on my computer: Core i7-3610 at 2.3 GHz, with 8 GB of memory. I doubt any of the groups have access to a super computer. Probably just a few good PCs or servers.

"why not just do what you're gonna do and STFU about it?" and there it is, the vitrial and bile spude ad nauseum by it's mindless minority at anyone that dares say something don't agree with.

GROW THE FUCK UP

@Boss

There's a key component I think you've missed - that there are a lot of new users here who know nothing about the problems with this site, make endless requests, and add to the noise. Discussions like this communicate and, hopefully, educate.

If you don't like it fine. Take your own advice and STFU about it and move on. Other people, like peymanusa and x265Addict seem to be learning things from the conversation.

@Boss

Double standard. Exactly my point. You didn't have to respond. You didn't have to engage. You didn't even have to use "STFU." You could have followed your own suggestion, not looked hypocritical, and let Vamps comment be. At the very least you could have given a neutral response, something like "That doesn't really add to the discussion," instead of using "STFU" which is incediary.

Instead, you started a response to x265Addict, then launched into a lengthy post filled with your own exaggerations and suggestions, which you then used as your arguments to essentially berate users here.

Even in your last post you projected one of your issues onto me, to use against me. I previously said "make endless requests," not "requesting and/or complaining about problems with the site." You seem to greatly dislike people pointing out problems and/or complaining about this site.

That's fine. We can agree to disagree, but please don't be hypocritical, or put words in people's mouths and then use them as arguments. That's what is generating negative responses.

My encodes take anywhere from 5-40 mins, Blu-rays can take even longer, depends on file size, quality, different formats etc.
This site actually does them pretty quick.

@ Boss

Whether you can see a reason for a comment or not doesn't mean you have the right or authority to tell someone to STFU. I was stating an opinion in a forum called "General Discussion". You can agree or disagree without bile.

Maybe by stating my concerns, I was hoping to generate a response from an Admin. explaining that they are aware of the issues and are addressing them, as unlikely as that might be. But I knew it was more likely to attract your kind. Incase you missed it, I didn't mention any site or encoder. I'm not trying to get ppl to switch to any other site, I'm still holding out hope for this site. But it is fading...

I think fascist was the correct term for your response to another's opinion on an open "general discussion" page. Deny all you want, the facts speak for themselves.

I almost want to say the troll ran crying back to its bridge. Sadly, I see they were trying to get some points across, but in an emotional, nearly chaotic manner. ~sigh~

I'll add another point to TomMix's lengthy list; admin popped on nine hours ago to say three different requests would be posted soon. I've yet to seen any of them go through the queue or be posted. To me, placating lies are worse than non-communication.

@spidapig

You're definitely right about quality, size, etc, affecting re-encoding time. I forgot to mention, with my example, that mine are typically 1080p x264 to 720p x265.
