I thought this show was going to be simple, low-budget & slow paced, romantic mush. And while it may be some of that... the characters/development/situations were amazing, and really moved me!
It's one of my favorite shows I've seen in the last 12 months. (along with The Pitt s2, Rooster, Best Medicine, Pluribus, Paradise s2, The Count of Monte Cristo 2024, Invincible s4, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, Sandokan, Murderbot).

Really looking forward to season 2!

Out of your list, seen Murderbot, Pluribus (loved!) and Paridise (loved parts of it, lead actor is great). The latter lost me a little when everyone started finding everyone (wife, boyfriend, son) at an accelerated rate, and (Kate? IDR) was outed/ killed/became and aftertought (after spending much time on her). She, like other secondary characters (the obsessive mailman, the ranch girl who only lived to "bread" the billionaire's son/his child then DIE) are explored more than the mains, then "bye bye". So, some strange choices with whom they decide to involve us with? Then show almost completely lost me by introducing time travel (overdone these past years). I guess I liked episode 1 mood's best (dark premise/thriller) most? Everyone has their own take on it (saw reddit explode!)but still watch

Murderbot is hilarious, period. A machine WOULD be narcissistic, wouldn't it? Then watching space soaps: Lol. If you liked THAT, you might be inclined to like SUNNY (it's not straight-up comedy but has a robot and is humorous when handling problems). Pluribus: I saw no preview before it landed here, and made a point of staying in the dark about it until it ended. So positively surprised! (Can Vince Gilligan do no wrong?) What looks bright and obvious is actually a fine exercise in subtlety and psychological gray zones, IMHO.

You did not mention "Severance"; not a fan, or was S2 NOT in the past 12 months? Aside for 1-2 episodes, it's a gem. I love that it's a world within a world within the greater world (and that some characters seem to have never seen the latter, and I don't just mean the Innies). Excellent acting, save for issues of credibility in the Irv/Burt storyline (when they're "together", I don't buy "it", but the rest is important for the plot). Otherwise, never a dull moment, cool sets and visuals (and I LOVE Milchik, lol!) Hope you've seen it; if not, try? It's sci-fi bent on the personnal, some great warping of what it means to "be",

If I made a list for you, I'd put in older stuff too (besides Sunny) since I watched a lot of new stuff that somehow didn't stay in memory (not that great or just too much volume?) I just watched Colony (sci-fi, also more personal than about invaders), The Terror 3 just strated (it' anthology series like Fargo so a whole new premise each time, and this one seems cool). Fargo, since I mentioned. apart from S1, no relation to the movie. Ever watched "The Wire"? One cultural problem, very different POVs on it, with each season emphasizing a different one. Another thing from a few years ago (from New-Zeland): Wakefield. It follows a male nurse in a psych ward, personal, and creative with both the subject and the aethetics (visuals/sound really make you FEEL). Good characters, not just usual stereotypes.

Hope to exchange again, and at least one suggestion will please you, I'll try some of yours! happy watching -cheers!

Hope to get to it after finishing Citadel & M.I.A.

Severance s2 ended in Mar 2025, > 12-months ;-)
But I'm a fan of the show, & the leading lady.

I'm hoping Paradise can make the blending of alternate time lines, as great as the rest of the show. Hopefully, Kate will be back in some form.

I saw Colony -- iirc, I was a big fan of the premise -- but I think I gave up after watching s2e4

Never saw The Wire, but I know it's loved by many.

Just saw Project Hail Mary. That's a keeper.

About Sunny: I got all the episodes HERE so you should be able too as well?

Paradise: yes, hopefully they do something different with time travel than a lot of other shows couldn't make work. I'm still irk with the time spent with the character they just kill during childbirth, but I will give the next season a try

I can see why Colony got in a rut at a point; but it was supposed to be 5 seasons long, to keep in mind. If you saw S03, you'd know it totally changes locales, and even the premise in a big way (kill off a few main characters, introduce new ones and new menace for the "hosts" so it would have been interesting to see it develop. Humans finally stood a chance, combo of the new menace, new characters, and technology recovered from the Hosts (so you'd know). Ending where it did was far more frustrating than the "rut" in S2! So you dodged a bullet, in a way!

Looking for the next great film! We watch one nearly every day but many older ones... will be in touch!

Can you erase all that? I can vouch NOTHING is me from page now no406 (after my conversation with@upx) to current page (this message to you). Prob same for others names used, and all work of a single person. I have no personal opinion about RaR.

Who did this even took the time to cut and paste my last real message and put it in with all the repeat ones.

Please don't be "spooked" by all this, this is use of my image +some other configuration of my name. I DID leave you 2 message after you wrote back to me (series conversation) last one being I liked the Japanese film Exit 8. Anything that came after (in my name and few others) could be erased by ADMIN by the time you get this- one hopes- but if not, over look. Snikerddodle (other nice user) recognized me VS not me before, I think you can too. It's not just the tome, but name itself... About Sunny, I can't download older stuff from here because I don't have an RR account. I tried to get one a while ago, but my bank/ credit card company would not approve it.
:-(

Luckily, there's a ton of free stuff out there, and in my hard drives, that'll keep me busy for decades :-)

Yeah it thinks it/she/he/whateva sure has shown that it/she/he can copy & paste haw haw. Well Admin did say the forgot password had an error now fixed but hey who cares if the email info is out there. It is so easy to see this he/she/it coloured hair rainbow cannot think for itself as has been shown over quite a period of time. When their hands gets sore & tired they have to have something to do sooooo they copy & paste until they find some more gel haw haw copy & paste that you wonderful amusing piece of hmmmmmmmmmm crap. Oh dear another 1 jeeez. How amusing & do I care yeah naaaaaaaaaaa. Back a few years ago we had such nice people with nice comments. Now just a lot of trashy people. Insult wow and here I thought it was just good old fun haw haw. Troll naaaaaaaaaaa.
